That's really cool. I wish my job allowed for enough time away to tackle something like that. Timely post too - we've been shopping for road/tri bikes this weekend.
He's actually going on a one year sabbatical (after spelling the word I just made the connection between sabbath and sabbatical. Neat, eh?) after 10 years at St. Francis. Before heading to Jerusalem for his sabbatical, where he'll be studying, of all things, the Bible he's doing this bicycle trek across the country. Several of the parishioners are doing it, too. Who knows how they can get the time off.
